  • To function as a non-profit entity where all funds raised will be allocated towards sustaining the operation of the youth centres.

~ During the 2010 - 2011 Fiscal Year the Link2Care Youth Centres had over 22,000 visits from local youth!

~ On average, Open Door sees over 100 individual youth per day in only a 3 hour time span!

Youth Program Philosophy
 
Links2Care Youth Programs are committed to providing a safe and positive environment for youth.  Links2Care Youth Centres, Open Door in Georgetown and Off The Wall in Acton, strive to provide youth supervision, information, supportive services, referral services and education to youth in Halton Hills.  Youth Workers support a safe-non-judgmental, confidential and inclusive environment to promote youth to develop skills in leadership, cooperation, problem-solving, positive relationships, responsibility and confidence.

Individual Support for Youth, Parents and Families
Our support services are structured in a variety of ways to meet the specific needs of the parents, the youth, and/or the family. Parents are assisted in forming positive relationships with their children through developing strategies for positive communication, dealing with behaviors, and coping with external influences.

Youth are assisted in addressing their needs which frequently relate to positive decision making, conflict resolution, relationships, and coping skills. Support is tailored to meet each unique family and their value systems.

Individual support is offered Monday - Friday throughout the day and into the evening. Support is offered by Amanda Kostjuk, a certified Child and Youth Worker. Amanda has been working with the Links2Care Youth Programs for over 7 years and has a great deal of expereince working with youth 1 on 1 in a variety of different settings.
