Over 100 youth visit Open Door Youth Centre each day!
The Open Door Youth Centre has been meeting the needs of youth in Georgetown since 1985. Located in the basement of St. Georges Church (60 Guelph Street, Georgetown), and in close proximity to Georgetown District and Garry Allen High Schools, Open Door is a drop-in program where youth ages 12-19 can visit during their school lunch or in their spare time. Open Door offers youth a space to call their own. The centres are equipped with a big screen TV with cable, XBOX and DVDs, foozeball, pool and hockey tables, and computers for homework and recreation. Open Door is also equipped with a full-service snack bar offering reasonably priced food, drinks and snacks including hotdogs, subs, sandwiches, canned pop, chocolate bars and juice.
Hours of Operation
During the school year (Sept-June), Open Door Youth Centre is open Monday to Friday from 11am to 2pm. During the summer months (June-Sept) Open Door is CLOSED. Individual Youth and Parent Support is ongoing througout the year and is available outisde of regular program hours by appointment. Healthy Snack Program
The Youth Centre Healthy Snack Program was started back in 2008 with a goal of bringing nutritious and delicious snacks to as many youth as possible. Three years later, and thanks to the amazing assistance of all of our dedicated volunteers, the program is still extremely popular and in very high demand.
